At the Computex 2025 exhibition, which took place at the end of May, ASUS showed an unusual ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card and only now its details have become known.

Here's What We Know

The device received a non-standard PCB design, where the GPU is installed at an angle of 90° relative to the usual location. Another feature is a built-in M.2 slot that allows you to install an SSD drive up to 8TB.

To connect the SSD, a PCIe bifurcation scheme is used - 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes are shared between the GPU and the drive. This may reduce the bandwidth of the graphics card, but in most RTX 5080 usage scenarios it will be enough.

The M.2 slot is placed under the cooling shroud and the drive receives additional airflow. According to ASUS, this design reduces SSD temperatures by an average of 10°C.

The board has been completely redesigned: due to the deployed GPU, the location of all key components and cooling elements has been changed. The graphics card also features a USB Type-C port - a rarity for RTX 50 series graphics cards.

The device is aimed at professional users and content creators, especially those who prefer compact PCs. The ability to install an SSD in the graphics card saves space in the case and simplifies the build configuration.

The ProArt GeForce RTX 5080 launch date and price have not been announced yet, but given the ProArt series' position in the market, we can expect a price in the premium segment.
