A Gift for Mobile Gamers — Realme GT 8 Pro Will Feature Bypass Charging and a Special R1 Chip to Boost FPS to 144Hz
Realme has confirmed the presentation date for the GT 8 series — it will take place on Tuesday, October 21, in China. The company also shared the first characteristics, although only for the GT 8 Pro model. What exactly will reach the base version of the GT 8 is still unknown.
Realme GT 8 Pro will feature:
- Processor: flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 + proprietary R1 graphics processing chip
- Battery: 7,000 mAh (compared to 6,500 mAh in GT 7 Pro)
- Charging: 120W fast wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse charging; supported standards: 50W PPS PD, 44W UFCS, 36W PD
Despite the larger battery and wireless charging coil, the GT 8 Pro will be thinner and lighter: 8.2 mm thick and 214 g in weight. The smartphone will have a bypass charging feature, allowing for gaming or other resource-intensive activities during charging without overheating or wearing out the battery.
Performance will be handled by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip paired with a separate Realme R1 display processor. This chip provides Super Resolution rendering and frame rate enhancement, allowing for gaming in QHD at 144Hz. Optimizations are expected for games like Valorant Mobile, Delta Action, Arena Breakout, and others.
