Apple's Upcoming Smart Glasses: Four Designs, New Features, and a 2027 Release Date
Apple is working on several design options for its first smart glasses. This is reported by Bloomberg.
What is known
According to journalist Mark Gurman, the company is testing four formats: a massive rectangular frame in Wayfarer style, a thinner rectangular option similar to Tim Cook's glasses, and two models with oval or round lenses — larger and more compact. At the same time, Apple is choosing colors, including black, ocean blue, and light brown.
The device has the internal name N50 and is considered as a competitor to the glasses from Meta, created together with Ray-Ban. At the same time, Apple may differ in design — with vertically oriented oval lenses and light elements around them.
It is expected that the glasses will have cameras for photos and videos and deep integration with the iPhone: calls, notifications, music and voice assistant. Probably, the launch will be synchronized with an updated Siri along with iOS 27.
According to preliminary data, the announcement may take place at the end of 2026 or at the beginning of 2027, and the release in 2027.
