Casio's classic MQ-24 is getting a stainless steel bracelet
Casio is preparing four new versions of its MQ-24 analog watch fitted with stainless steel bracelets — a step up from the resin-strap models that currently sell for around £24–26 in the UK. The new variants appeared on Casio's Singapore online store marked "coming soon," with no release date or pricing announced for the UK or US.
The watches
The four models split across two sub-lines: MQ-24DA and MQ-24GA. Three come with a resin case finished in metal plating — black dial (MQ-24DA-1A), blue dial (MQ-24DA-2A), and green dial (MQ-24DA-3A). The fourth, the MQ-24GA-1A, pairs a black dial with a gold-ion-plated bracelet. All four share the same minimalist three-hand layout, sunray-effect dial, and tone-matched applied indices that define the MQ-24 look.
The case measures 38.8 × 34.9 × 7.8 mm and weighs around 45 g — compact enough for everyday wear. Casio rates accuracy at ±20 seconds per month and quotes a three-year life from the SR626SW battery. Basic water resistance covers typical daily use, though these aren't dive watches.
In Singapore, the price is set at SGD 69 — roughly USD 54 or around £43 at current exchange rates, per Notebookcheck.
What to expect in the UK and US
The existing plastic-strap MQ-24 is widely stocked at Amazon UK, John Lewis, and specialist retailers. The metal versions are not yet listed anywhere outside the Casio SG storefront. No information has been released about a Japan launch either, which suggests this may be a regional soft-launch rather than a global rollout.
Based on Casio's recent product cadence — the MRW-230H and EFK-100 both landed in UK retailers roughly four to eight weeks after their Asian debuts — a wider release before mid-year is plausible, though not confirmed.
