PlayStation Plus subscribers get three games for free in May, and the lineup covers more ground than usual. EA Sports FC 26, action-RPG Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and indie metroidvania Nine Sols all unlock on May 5, 2026, for Essential, Extra, and Premium members alike. You have until June 1 to claim them — but first, grab April's games before the May 4 deadline.

The lineup

EA Sports FC 26 lands on both PS5 and PS4, and PS Plus subscribers get an exclusive Icons Pack of cosmetic bonuses on top. The timing is deliberate: the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in June, so this is effectively Sony dropping the game right before football season peaks.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is PS5-only. Set during China's Ming Dynasty, it plays like a soulslike — demanding melee combat, punishing difficulty, methodical exploration. Reviews after launch were broadly positive, though a post-launch patch introduced a bug that made certain enemies unkillable and stalled story progression. The developers patched it, but it's worth knowing the game had a rough few days post-release if you prefer to wait for stable builds.

Nine Sols is the indie standout of the month. Developed by Taiwanese studio RedCandleGames, it's a 2D metroidvania that won awards at Gamescom, BitSummit, and SXSW after its May 2024 release. The studio has a complicated history — their earlier game Devotion was pulled from sale in 2019 following a Chinese censorship campaign — but Nine Sols is a sharp, well-regarded game that holds up well against bigger-budget titles in the genre.

## Worth claiming? All three are recent releases, which makes this a stronger month than average. Nine Sols alone would cost you money on the PlayStation Store; getting it bundled with a football sim and a melee action game at no extra charge is solid value. Per the PlayStation Blog, availability may vary by region, so check your local store to confirm all three titles appear. As Engadget notes, Nine Sols in particular is worth your time if you have any interest in the genre.
