Forza Horizon 6 release trailer lands: 550 cars, Tokyo, and Game Pass day one
Forza Horizon 6 launches May 19, 2026, and Xbox has just dropped the release trailer to mark the occasion. The open-world racer is set across a stylised Japan, with a Tokyo that Playground Games says is five times larger than any city in a previous Horizon game — Edinburgh in FH4 is the closest comparison. If you're on Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass, the game is included on day one at no extra cost.
The Japan angle
The trailer runs through what makes this entry different. You get dense urban streets, mountain passes, coastal roads, and a dynamic weather system that affects all of them. Tokyo isn't a one-to-one recreation of the real city, but it borrows landmarks and districts — Shibuya, Ginza — to build something recognisably Japanese at scale.
The car roster hits 550 at launch, the biggest day-one lineup the Horizon series has ever shipped. That range runs from city minivans and hatchbacks to high-end supercars, with a few concept vehicles thrown in. A Career mode sits alongside a full suite of online events, many of which trigger directly in the open world rather than through menus.
Editions and pricing
Standard edition is $69.99. Deluxe comes in at $99.99. The Premium Edition costs $119.99 and unlocks four-day early access — meaning Premium buyers can play from May 15. It also bundles VIP membership (double race credits, exclusive Forza Edition cars, weekly Super Spins, an elite Tokyo property), a Car Pass covering 30 additional cars, a Welcome Pack, and two post-launch expansions with new maps.

The Premium Edition ($119.99) includes four-day early access, VIP membership, a Car Pass, and two post-launch expansions.
Game Pass subscribers on Ultimate or PC skip the upfront cost entirely, which makes this one of the lower-barrier entries in the franchise for Xbox players. Pre-orders are open now across all editions via the Forza.net official site.
PlayStation 5
A PS5 version is confirmed for later in 2026, but Microsoft and Playground Games haven't given a specific date. No pricing for the PlayStation release has been announced yet either.
Forza Horizon 6 is out May 19 on Xbox Series X|S, PC via the Microsoft Store and Steam, and Game Pass. Premium Edition early access starts May 15.
