MSI's 425Hz 1440p gaming monitor is only available in China — for now
MSI has launched a 27-inch gaming monitor that pushes 1440p resolution to 425Hz — a combination rare enough to turn heads in esports circles. The MSI MAG 276QP42 went on sale via JD.com in China at 2,199 yuan (around $322), making it significantly cheaper than most comparable high-refresh panels available in the West. There's just one catch: no US or UK distributor has been announced.
The specs
The MAG 276QP42 uses a Fast IPS panel running at 2560x1440 with a 0.5ms GtG response time. Peak brightness reaches 400 nits, and it carries VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Color coverage hits 98.1% of the DCI-P3 gamut with 10-bit support via an 8-bit + FRC dithering scheme. Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4a input, a 3.5mm audio jack, and HDMI CEC support for multi-device setups. The stand is fully adjustable and VESA 100x100mm compatible.
MSI also built in adaptive sync across the board — Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync, and Adaptive-Sync are all supported. The anti-glare coating and TUV Rheinland-certified low blue light mode round out the ergonomic package.

The AI additions
Two software features target competitive players specifically. AI Vision boosts visibility in dark in-game scenes — useful in titles like Warzone or Apex Legends, though independent testing hasn't confirmed how well it actually works. A smart aiming reticle overlays a crosshair that automatically shifts color based on whatever's in the background. MSI also includes a virtual screen-size reduction mode that simulates a 24.5-inch display, letting players narrow their focus area without changing physical hardware.
These features sit in a grey area for competitive play. Most tournament organizers prohibit hardware-level aim assistance, so check the rules before leaning on the reticle.
Availability
Right now, the MAG 276QP42 is China-only via JD.com. MSI has made no announcement for the US or UK market, and no Western retail listing has appeared. For buyers in North America or the UK, the realistic alternatives are 240–280Hz OLED panels from Asus, LG, and Dell, which typically run $430–$600 — more expensive, but available today and well-reviewed.
At 425Hz, the MAG 276QP42 is technically impressive for a non-OLED panel at this price. Whether it ever reaches Western shelves is a different question entirely.
