Ugreen's new 45W GaN charger has a tiny angled screen — and emoji support
Ugreen has launched a 45W USB-C GaN charger in China with a small built-in display tilted at 45 degrees — a design quirk that makes the screen readable when the charger is plugged into a desk outlet. It went on sale May 26 at 119 yuan, roughly $18, making it one of the more affordable display-equipped chargers on the market. There's no confirmed US or UK release date yet.
The screen
The angled display shows real-time power output, voltage, current, charging protocol, and temperature — the kind of data that's usually buried in a companion app or not surfaced at all. Ugreen also says the charger can identify certain Apple devices and show the model name on screen. And, for reasons that aren't entirely clear, it supports custom emojis.
The silver body has a red base, foldable prongs for easier packing, and a single USB-C port. It weighs about 96 grams.

The specs
GaN (gallium nitride) chips run cooler and smaller than traditional silicon, which is how Ugreen fits 45W into this compact form. The charger supports 5V/3A, 9V/3A, 12V/3A, 15V/3A, and 20V/2.25A output modes. Input is rated 100–240V, so it works on both US and UK/EU voltage. Thermal management uses a graphene-based cooling material combined with potting technology to help dissipate heat during sustained use.
Ugreen claims some smartphones can reach 50% charge in around 20 minutes. The single port also supports tablets and laptops. The charger comes with an 18-month warranty.
Availability
Right now, this model is China-only, per Gizmochina. Ugreen does sell 45W multi-port Nexode chargers through its UK store, but this angled-display variant isn't listed there. The brand typically launches eye-catching designs in China first, with Western rollouts following two to four months later. If and when it does arrive in the US or UK, expect the price to land somewhere above the Chinese equivalent — Ugreen's existing Nexode 45W models retail around £28–£35 in the UK.
