Xiaomi's €180 G25i 2026 is a 240Hz budget gaming monitor — but 1080p feels dated

Xiaomi has quietly launched the Gaming Monitor G25i 2026 on its global website, with European distributors listing it at €180. The 24.5-inch, 240Hz panel targets budget-conscious competitive gamers, but it arrives at a moment when 1440p screens at similar prices are increasingly common — making the 1080p spec a harder sell in 2026.

The specs

The G25i 2026 uses a Fast IPS panel running at 1920×1080 with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms GtG response time. Those numbers are solid for fast-paced or esports play, where high frame rates matter more than pixel density. Peak brightness hits 400 nits in HDR mode, with a 1000:1 contrast ratio. AMD FreeSync Premium is supported for tear-free gaming on compatible GPUs.

Connectivity covers HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a 3.5mm audio jack — a reasonable set for a screen at this price. There's also a built-in crosshair overlay and a night vision mode that brightens dark areas in games. The stand adjusts for tilt only; no height or swivel adjustment is included.

The catch

As Notebookcheck reports, the G25i 2026 is listed by distributors and a Finnish retailer, but is not yet available through local retailers in the UK, US, or broader Europe. Xiaomi has not officially confirmed regional pricing, so the €180 figure is distributor-level, not a confirmed shelf price.

Trusted Reviews notes the bigger problem: at this price point in 2026, competing monitors like the Dell SE2726HG and ViewSonic XG2431 already offer 1440p at 240Hz — making Full HD feel like a trade-off rather than a value. The G25i makes the most sense for esports and competitive FPS players who genuinely prioritize frame rate over image sharpness and don't need a high-resolution desktop experience.

For now, interested buyers outside Finland will need to wait for wider retail availability before the G25i 2026 becomes a practical purchase.
