Silent Hill: Townfall has a release date: September 24, 2026, on PS5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Developed by Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive — formerly known as No Code — it marks the first mainline Silent Hill title to use a first-person perspective, setting it apart from every previous entry in the franchise. For fans who've been waiting since the series revival, this is the most unconventional take yet.

A different kind of Silent Hill

The game takes place not in the iconic American town but in St. Amelia, a fictional small island fishing village in Scotland, inspired by the real village of St Monans in Fife. You play as Simon Ordell, who travels there to "make things right." A new trailer introduces nurse Zoë as a key character, and the monster designs appear to draw heavily on illness and medical imagery — syringes, diagnoses, and clinical dread — continuing a theme teased in earlier promotional material.

The first-person view is a genuine departure for the series. The only prior FPS Silent Hill was the short, free-to-play Silent Hill: The Short Message in 2024, so Townfall is the first full-length game to commit to this perspective. Puzzles are a core focus, designed to both challenge players and reinforce the game's narrative themes — consistent with Screen Burn's previous work.

PS5 first, PC alongside — Xbox unclear

Sony is promoting Townfall as a PS5 title, and the game launches on PC simultaneously. The DualSense controller gets full integration: adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion controls used for tuning an in-game CRTV. Xbox is conspicuously absent from all announcements. Konami followed the same pattern with Silent Hill 2 Remake, which observed a 13-month PS5 exclusivity window before reaching Xbox Series X|S — so a similar wait is plausible here, though nothing has been formally confirmed.

The US price is set at $49.99. UK pricing and pre-order details — including a Steelbook bundle available on Amazon UK — are listed ahead of the September launch. Townfall shares its release date with Control Resonant, making September 24 one of the busier days on the 2026 gaming calendar.
