OnePlus Turbo 6X and 6X Pro launch in China with huge batteries and 144Hz screens
OnePlus launched the Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro in China on June 10, with starting prices equivalent to around $280 and $295. Both phones lead with oversized batteries and 144Hz displays at a price point where Samsung, Xiaomi, and Motorola already compete hard. Neither has a confirmed release outside China.
The phones
The standard Turbo 6X runs a 6.72-inch LCD at 144Hz, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Super chip built on 4nm. Its main draw is a 7000mAh battery charged at 45W — exceptional capacity for the price. The camera setup is a 50MP main paired with a 2MP depth sensor and an 8MP selfie camera. IP64 dust and splash resistance is included, along with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
The Turbo 6X Pro steps up noticeably. It gets a 6.78-inch Samsung M14 AMOLED panel at 1.5K resolution, still 144Hz, with peak brightness hitting 6500 nits in HDR mode, per Notebookcheck (June 2026). The chip upgrades to a Dimensity 7400 Super, and the battery grows to 8000mAh with 80W fast charging. The camera adds OIS to the 50MP main, plus an 8MP ultrawide and a 16MP front camera. Durability is a genuine highlight: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, plus seven military-grade drop tests — unusually thorough for this price tier.
Both models run ColorOS 16 on top of Android 16, and support 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB-C 2.0.
No global date yet
As of launch, Android Headlines (June 2026) confirmed there are no details on a global debut and it remains unclear whether these models will expand beyond China. OnePlus has historically rebranded its Turbo-series phones as Nord devices for international markets — the Nord CE line followed this pattern — but nothing has been announced for the 6X series.
For UK and US buyers, the budget-to-mid-range shelf at £250–£350 is already packed: Samsung's Galaxy A series, Xiaomi's Redmi Note 15 Pro, and Motorola's Edge 60 Fusion all compete in the same range. The Turbo 6X Pro's 8000mAh battery and IP69K rating would be competitive if it arrived, but right now it doesn't. Keep an eye on OnePlus's global channels — if past form holds, a Nord-branded version could follow within a few months.
