OnePlus N6: budget phone for India, not for you
OnePlus officially announced the N6, a budget smartphone aimed at younger buyers, launching in India on June 30. The phone is priced between Rs 18,000 and Rs 25,000 — roughly $215 to $300 — and packs an 8000 mAh battery with 45W SuperVOOC fast charging. If you're in the US or UK, though, this one isn't for you: OnePlus exits Western markets in 2026, and no Western pricing or availability has been announced.
The phone itself
The N6 runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset with a likely 8 GB of RAM, and carries a 50 MP main camera. Its design closely mirrors the Nord CE 6 — same camera block, same familiar silhouette — and will come in at least two colors: black and a mint/blue option. OnePlus's teaser tagline reads "Always On. Always Smooth," a nudge toward a high-refresh-rate display (probably 90 Hz or above) and OxygenOS performance tuning. The 8000 mAh capacity is genuinely large for this price tier, and 45W charging means topping up won't take all day.

What it means for the West
The N6 follows the same India-only pattern as the Nord 6, which launched in April 2026 without a UK price ever being published. OnePlus exits Western markets, having wound down carrier and retail partnerships across the US, UK, and EU. The Nord CE 5 remains available in the UK for around £250–£300, but that's a legacy listing — not a sign that OnePlus is still actively competing here.
In the sub-$250 budget segment, the N6 would have competed with the Xiaomi Poco X7 Pro and Motorola Moto G56. Those phones are available in Western markets; the N6 is not. If you're hunting for a big-battery budget Android right now, those two — or a leftover Nord CE 5 — are the realistic options.
The bigger picture
OnePlus is consolidating around Asia and emerging markets. The N series has become the affordable arm of a brand that once made a name for itself as a premium-killer in Europe and the US. The N6 targets Gen Z with battery life as its headline feature — a sensible bet in India's price-sensitive market. Whether OnePlus ever returns to Western retail with a competitive budget line remains an open question.
