Infinix HOT 70 Pro 5G: Color-Changing Design, IP68, and Bundled AI at Mid-Range Price
Infinix launched the HOT 70 Pro 5G on July 16, 2026, a mid-range phone that arrives with some genuinely unusual tricks: a color-changing back panel, IP68 waterproofing, military-grade drop resistance, and a dedicated AI button — all in a segment where most phones offer little beyond a fast chip and a big screen. UK and US pricing are not yet confirmed, but the €220 European price tag suggests a figure around £190–200 in Britain.
The look
The most eye-catching variant is Thermo Orange. The back panel shifts from a deeper orange below 0°C to a lighter shade at around 65°C, and you can temporarily draw patterns on it using body heat. The Mirage Green version stores light and glows like a star field in the dark. Four additional finishes — Silk Glow Purple, Depth Ring White, Dive Blue, and Night Pulse — round out the lineup. Despite the showier materials, the phone stays slim at 7.85mm thick and 204 grams.
The 6.76-inch display runs at up to 144Hz with an adaptive range down to 45Hz, and Infinix claims a peak brightness of 950 nits, per the GSMArena full specs.
The hardware
Power comes from a MediaTek Dimensity 7100 built on a 6nm process, with 5G support. The rear camera uses a Sony IMX882 50MP sensor — the same brand of silicon found in pricier phones — alongside a 2x lossless zoom mode and AI editing tools including an eraser and a photo extender. Up front sits an 8MP selfie camera.
Battery capacity varies by region: either 5600mAh or 6000mAh, with 45W fast charging that fills the phone in roughly 53–63 minutes. Infinix claims up to 27.6 hours of daily use from a full charge.

The Thermo Orange variant shifts shade with temperature — and lets you draw temporary patterns with body heat.
Both IP68 (water resistance to 2 metres for 30 minutes) and MIL-STD-810H certification are confirmed, per the PRNewswire official launch. That combination is rare at this price — most phones at £200 carry neither rating.
The AI angle
A physical One-Tap AI Button on the frame launches Folax, Infinix's AI assistant, which connects to both ChatGPT and Google Gemini. Availability of those integrations varies by country, so neither is guaranteed in all markets. Every unit also comes with a three-month Google AI Plus subscription bundled in, covering Gemini access and 2TB of cloud storage. An AI MindHub system organizes notes, screenshots, and videos into a searchable library.
One other feature worth noting: the phone uses its gyroscope to display visual cues that aim to reduce motion sickness during car or bus journeys — an odd but practical addition for commuters.

Folax AI connects to ChatGPT and Google Gemini via a dedicated hardware button.
Worth watching
No UK or US retailer has been confirmed yet. If the phone lands near the £190–200 mark, it sits squarely against the Motorola Edge 40 and Poco X7 Pro — and the IP68 plus MIL-STD-810H combination gives it a durability edge neither rival can match at the same price.

The HOT 70 Pro 5G carries both IP68 and MIL-STD-810H ratings — uncommon at this price point.

Six color options are available, including the glow-in-the-dark Mirage Green.
