Motorola starts rolling out Android 17 beta to Edge 70, G57 Power, and Signature
Motorola has begun pushing Android 17 beta builds to three of its phones: the Motorola Signature, Moto G57 Power, and Motorola Edge 70. The company was the first non-Google manufacturer to announce Android 17 beta testing — beating Samsung by months when it opened its program in February 2026, just days after Google's own first beta drop. The wait for actual builds, however, took considerably longer.
The rollout
The Motorola Signature got the update first, with the G57 Power and Edge 70 following shortly after, as Android Authority reports. Each package weighs in at around 4.3GB. The builds are currently limited to select regions — parts of Europe (including EMEA countries), India, Brazil, the Middle East, and Africa. There's no dedicated US or UK rollout phase announced, but devices in those regions are eligible through the standard beta program.

What's new in the beta
The Android 17 beta for Motorola devices brings a noticeable visual refresh alongside a handful of practical changes:

When to expect the stable release
Motorola has mapped out a rough timeline. Stable Android 17 is expected for the Signature and Razr 2025 in August–September 2026, with the Edge series following in October–November. The Moto G line is slated for late 2026 or early 2027. That's a reasonable cadence — though 9to5Google has flagged some confusing footnote contradictions in Motorola's stated update promises on certain models, particularly around OS upgrades versus security updates. Worth keeping in mind if long-term support matters to you.
