YouTube Premium is bundling Peacock starting in 2027

YouTube Premium subscribers in the US will get Peacock Premium included in their existing subscription starting early 2027, per Variety. The ad-supported tier of Peacock — which normally costs $10.99 a month standalone — will come at no extra charge. Those who want to go ad-free can upgrade to Peacock Premium Plus for an additional fee.

The deal

YouTube and NBCUniversal announced the expanded partnership this week. Before the full bundle launches in early 2027, YouTube users can add Peacock Premium as a paid add-on through YouTube Primetime Channels later this summer. Peacock Premium Plus has already been available on the platform since June 2026.

The timing is notable. YouTube raised the price of Premium to $15.99 a month for individuals — and $27.99 for families — in June 2026. Bundling a service worth nearly $11 a month gives the higher price point a clearer value argument. Peacock itself recently posted its first quarterly profit in six years, and the platform now counts 48 million US subscribers, as CNBC reports.

What's in the package

The deal goes beyond streaming libraries. Some live NBC Sports events will air on a dedicated YouTube channel, and both companies are working on joint bundle offers — including Universal+ and Hayu — for users in select international markets, though no specific countries or timelines have been confirmed outside the US.

The bigger picture

This mirrors the playbook Disney has run with Hulu and ESPN+: stack services together, justify a higher monthly fee, and reduce the chance subscribers cancel. For YouTube, it's a shift from being purely a video platform toward something closer to a full entertainment hub competing against Netflix and Disney+.

Comcast is expected to spin off NBCUniversal around mid-2027, which means Peacock will soon operate as a more independent company — one with a larger distribution base thanks in part to this deal. Whether the bundle eventually reaches the UK or other English-speaking markets depends on separate licensing negotiations that haven't been announced.
