THQ Nordic is bringing five games to Switch and Switch 2, including Mickey Mouse and SpongeBob
If you needed a sign that third-party publishers are serious about Nintendo Switch 2, THQ Nordic just provided five of them. The European publisher announced a slate of ports and remasters spread across both Switch generations, running from August through October 2026 — one of the most concrete multi-title commitments any third party has made to Nintendo's new hardware.
The lineup
The rollout starts now. Sacred 2 Remaster — an updated version of the once-popular fantasy RPG — arrives on Switch and Switch 2 on August 11. Next up is Destroy All Humans!, the 2020 comedic alien-invasion game, which is already available on Switch 2 with technical upgrades including full HD resolution up to 1440p, improved shaders, and denser environments compared to older versions.
The remaining three titles follow in quick succession, per Nintendo Life:
- Destroy All Humans! 2: Reprobed — September 15 on Switch 2 - Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed — October 6 on Switch 2 - SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide — October 13 on Switch 1
What the Switch 2 versions actually offer
The upgraded ports aren't just resolution bumps. Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed on Switch 2 adds a higher resolution, an improved framerate, Joy-Con mouse controls, and a Costume Pack DLC, confirms the Nintendo Store. That Joy-Con mouse support is a meaningful addition — it's the kind of hardware-specific feature that makes Switch 2 versions feel like distinct products rather than simple ports.
The SpongeBob title takes the opposite approach: it originally launched on Switch 2 and other platforms in November 2025, and the October 2026 release is a downport for owners of the original Switch. That's a smart hedge — accelerate Switch 2 adoption without abandoning the massive existing install base.

THQ Nordic isn't stopping at five. The publisher currently has seven or more unannounced Switch 2 projects in development, making it one of the most committed third-party studios behind Nintendo's new console. For Switch 2 owners skeptical about software depth, that pipeline matters.
All five titles will be available through major US retailers including Amazon, Target, and Walmart. UK and US pricing has not yet been confirmed for individual titles.
