Motorola's Android 17 update list: 50+ phones confirmed, but budget models wait until 2027
Motorola has confirmed more than 50 smartphones will receive Android 17, and the stable rollout has already started — the Edge 2025 is the first device to get the final build in the US. The company became the first non-Google phone maker to launch an Android 17 beta, beating Samsung by announcing its program just 11 days after Google released Beta 1. That said, the update schedule is heavily tiered: premium foldables and flagship phones get updated first, budget Moto G devices last.
The list
Motorola hasn't published a single consolidated update page. Instead, it updates individual model support pages — a move that makes the full picture easy to miss. The portal YTECHB official list compiled the complete list from those pages.
Eligible devices span four main families:
- Motorola Signature (2026) - Razr series — Razr 70 Ultra/Plus/standard, Razr Ultra/+/standard 2025 and 2026, Razr Fold 2025/2026, Razr 60 series, Razr 50 Ultra - Edge series — Edge 2025, Edge 2026, Edge 70 (all variants), Edge 60 (Stylus, Pro, Fusion, standard), Edge 50 Ultra - Moto G — G Stylus/Power/Play 2025 and 2026, G Max, G87, G86, G77, G67, G57, G47, G37 (and Power variants)
One notable gap: the Edge 60 Neo's support page hasn't confirmed Android 17 yet, despite Motorola promising that phone five major OS updates through Android 20. That ambiguity hasn't been resolved.
The schedule
The stable rollout for the Edge 2025 began in the US on August 10, with a wider rollout expected within weeks. Beyond that first device, the timeline breaks down roughly like this:
- Signature and Razr 2025 models: August–September 2026 - Edge 60 and Edge 50 series: October–November 2026 - Moto G line: late 2026 to early 2027
That's a six-month gap between the first and last devices. If you own a Razr or a premium Edge, you're near the front of the queue. If you bought a Moto G for its low price, expect to wait until well into next year.
What it means
Motorola's speed here is a genuine change. The brand spent years trailing Samsung and Google's own Pixel line on update pace. Jumping ahead of Samsung on Android 17 beta access signals a real shift in how seriously Motorola is treating software support. Whether that speed carries through to Moto G owners — or stops at the premium tier — will be the real test.
