Vivo Y31T leaks with a 7200mAh battery and dual IP ratings for under $300
Vivo is preparing a new entry-level 5G phone that puts battery life and durability front and center. The Y31T has leaked with a 7200mAh battery, dual IP66 and IP68 water resistance, and a Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip — all at an estimated price of around ₹26,999 (roughly $282). It's aimed squarely at India's competitive budget 5G market, where longevity and toughness matter as much as specs.
The specs
According to XpertPick, the Y31T sports a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a peak brightness of 1250 nits — a step up from the previous Y31 Pro's 6500mAh cell. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 handles processing, paired with UFS 2.2 storage in three configurations: 4GB/128GB, 6GB/128GB, and 6GB/256GB. The 44W fast charging should top up that large battery reasonably quickly.
On the camera side, the rear houses a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. The front gets an 8MP selfie camera. The body measures 8.39mm thick and comes in Crimson Red, Gold Mist, and Seashore Green.
The dual IP66 and IP68 certification is the standout detail here. Both ratings together are uncommon in this price bracket — IP68 covers submersion in water, while IP66 adds protection against powerful jets. As Notebookcheck notes, this kind of protection is usually borrowed from much pricier handsets.

Availability
The Y31T is confirmed as an India-exclusive launch for now. No UK, US, or broader international release has been announced. Vivo does sell the Y31e 5G in Europe, which shows the brand is willing to expand these lines internationally — but there's no indication the Y31T will follow the same path anytime soon. Software details, including the version of Funtouch OS it will ship with, haven't been disclosed either.
For anyone shopping in the ₹25,000–₹27,000 range in India, the Y31T sets up as a direct rival to the Oppo A6 5G and Redmi devices in the same bracket — with the battery and waterproofing as its clearest differentiators.
