Motorola has unveiled the Moto Watch Ultra at IFA 2026 in Berlin, and for the first time the brand is putting LTE and eSIM into a smartwatch. Priced at $349.99 in the US and £369 in the UK, it slots in well below the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 ($699) and Apple Watch Ultra, while still claiming flagship-tier hardware and Polar-backed health tracking.

The hardware

The watch runs Wear OS 6 on a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chip — a capable processor, though it launched back in 2022, which is worth noting for anyone thinking long-term. The 1.5-inch curved pOLED display hits 466×466 pixels and peaks at 2,700 nits of brightness, with a variable 1–60Hz refresh rate and an Always-On Display option. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 covers the face.

The stainless steel case measures 46.26mm across and 12.1mm thick, weighing 51g. It's rated IP68 and 5ATM, so swimming is fine. Standard 22mm bands fit, which keeps accessory costs low.

On the software side, the full Google Play Store is available — Google Maps, Messages, YouTube Music, Gemini AI, and Google Wallet all work out of the box. Motorola's own Qira assistant adds integration with compatible Moto and Lenovo devices.

LTE, Polar health, and the battery catch

The LTE and eSIM support is the headline feature: you can make calls, get texts, and receive notifications without your phone nearby. Dual-band GPS handles navigation. Motorola is promising at least two major OS updates.

Health tracking leans on Polar's algorithms rather than Motorola's own. That includes Nightly Recharge, Sleep Plus Stages, Serene guided breathing, and a Running Coach — tools that put it in closer competition with Garmin and Polar's own hardware than with the average Wear OS watch.

The trade-off is battery life. Expect two days of active use with Always-On Display off — a far cry from the week-plus runtimes on Garmin or even Amazfit devices. Fast charging softens the blow: 15 minutes plugged in delivers 24 hours of use.

Availability

In the US, the Moto Watch Ultra goes on sale directly from Motorola on September 10, with Verizon following on September 24 and T-Mobile and AT&T; rolling out in the months after, per Android Authority. In the UK, Tech Advisor confirmed a September 18 launch at £369, though no carrier partnerships have been announced there yet. At €429 across Europe, it arrives in "coming weeks" with retailer and carrier details still to be confirmed.

At $349.99, Motorola is making a real price argument — but whether a two-day battery and a four-year-old chip are enough to win buyers away from established names is another question.
