Xiaomi unveiled Redmi 9 Activ with MediaTek Helio G35 chip and 5000mAh battery for $130

Despite exactly Xiaomi has already released Redmi 10, the company continues to expand the past line of smartphones Redmi 9.

What is known

The Chinese manufacturer announced in India a model called Redmi 9 Activ. The device is essentially a copy of the Redmi 9C. Except for one thing - memory. While Redmi 9 comes in configurations with 2/3/4GB RAM and 32/64GB ROM, Redmi 9 Activ has only 4/64GB and 6/128GB versions.

Other smartphone specifications have not changed. It gets a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution, MediaTek Helio G35 processor, 5000 mAh battery with 10-watt charging, 5 MP front camera, main camera with multiple sensors and 13 MP main sensor, microSD card slot and four colors: Carbon Black, Coral Green, Sky Blue and Sporty Orange. Out of the box, the novelty runs on Android 11 OS on top of which the MIUI 12 shell is installed.

Redmi 9 Activ has already gone on sale, but only in India so far. The 4/64GB version is being asked for $130, while the 6/128GB version is priced at $150. Whether the device will appear in other regions is not yet known.
