How unexpected: Google's budget Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL will get Android 12L, but the flagships Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL won't
The other day it was reported online that Google Time to retire: Google is ending support for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL (Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones will get the latest update early next year). It seemed that the same expects its budget Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL devices, but this is not the case.
What we know
Recently there was unveiled Android 12L operating system and its beta version for the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 5a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 4a and Pixel 4. Google has now updated the list of supported devices and added Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones as well. Users of these devices can already download and install a test version of the software. A stable release of the firmware is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

Recall, the Android 12L operating system is designed primarily for devices with larger screens. That is, for foldable smartphones, tablets and laptops. It boasts additional multitasking tools and optimized user interface. By default, Android 12L also improves the appearance of apps and notifications on devices with larger screens.
