The Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones were released in 2018, and since it's been 3 years, Google will soon permanently stop supporting them .
Generally, these models reached the deadline for "guaranteed security updates" in October this year. But the manufacturer confirms that they will still receive the latest update, which is scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2022, that is the first three months .
A similar story was with the Pixel 2 lineup. While those devices received their last guaranteed update in October 2020, the company released another update for them in December 2020, fixing several bugs and vulnerabilities. It looks like with Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL Google also wants to take more time to fix all the bugs found and ensure a stable user experience.
By the way, next will be Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, which will complete software support in May 2022.
