Expanded Edition release date for Oddworld: Soulstorm has been revealed

Studio Oddworld Inhabitants has announced that Oddworld: Soulstorm Enhanced Edition will be released in late November. It will be released November 30th.

Enhanced will be released on PC on the Epic Games Store, and will also be available on PlayStation and Xbox. On Microsoft consoles you can already pre-order for $39.99. If you have the original game, you'll get a free upgrade to  Enhanced Edition.

The main new feature of the Enhanced Edition is an unlockable challenge mode after the end of the main campaign. What is interesting, the content of the mode differs depending on the platform:

  • Vykkers Labs challenge will appear on Xbox. The authors describe this entertainment as a kind of reference to the classic Oddworld with 2.5D gameplay - you will have to pass short levels with puzzles. The faster you complete the stages and the fewer you die, the higher you climb on the leaderboard.
  • Toby's Escape challenge will be introduced on PC and PlayStation. This is another set of small puzzle levels, only here you will be told how Toby escaped from RuptureFarms and became a conductor.

Enhanced Edition will also offer improved artificial intelligence, sound balance, movement system and other tweaks accumulated over seven months of polishing. Soulstorm.
