Huawei MateBook E: tablet-laptop hybrid with Windows 11, 11th generation Intel processors and stylus support for $940

Today at presentation in China, Huawei introduced a new product - Huawei MateBook E.

What is it?

It is transformative gadget, which can act as both a tablet and a laptop.   It means that without accessories it's a tablet, but in tandem with  case with stand and full-fledged keyboard  - it's a real notebook. And, unlike simple tablets with attachable keyboard, this model has serious "stuffing", like a laptop. When you connect the MateBook E to a keyboard, it automatically goes into laptop mode with Windows 11. Similarly simply by removing it from the keyboard, the gadget switches to tablet mode.

Huawei MateBook E features a 12.6-inch OLED display with resolution 2560×1600, color coverage 100% DCI-P3, aspect ratio 16:10 and brightness 600 nits. Its thickness is 7.9 mm, and weight  709 g. And thin bezels allowed the screen to occupy almost 90% of the front panel.

In the top-end version you get an Intel Core i7 11th generation processor with Intel Iris X graphics, 16GB RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD, in the base - Core i5 11th generation with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 42Wh battery provides 5 to 8 hours of battery life and comes with a 65W charging adapter that charges the battery to about 54% in half an hour.

Also the Huawei MateBook E gets 8MP front-facing camera and 13 MP main camera with LED flash, four speakers tuned with Huawei Sound, Wi-Fi 6, fingerprint scanner and support for Huawei M-Pencil second generation stylus.

How much?

The Transformer starts at $940 for the basic version. All variants include a keyboard, but the price of the top-end variant for $1365 also includes a stylus in the package. In China sales will start December 1.
