ASUS Big Show at CES 2022 - Zenbook 17 Fold OLED Laptop, TUF Gaming Models & More
ASUS unveiled innovative new solutions at CES 2022 with bold designs and high levels of performance. The company has announced thin Zenbook laptops with OLED displays, TUF Gaming and TUF Dash gaming models, as well as the Pro Display professional IPS monitor and other new additions.
ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED
Let's start with the world's first laptop equipped with a 17.3 ”foldable OLED display. It has a resolution of 2.5K and when folded down offers two 12.5 ”Full HD screens with no bezel in between. The display boasts PANTONE and TÜV Rheinland certification, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and Dolby Vision HDR support.
The ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED features the latest generation Intel Core i7-U chips. The battery capacity is 75 W * h. We also note two USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support, an HD camera and four stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED Space Edition
The second novelty is the "space" version of the popular Zenbook 14X OLED ultrabook. The Space Edition is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the 600-day space mission of the ASUS P6300 laptop. Available in Zero-G Titanium.
An exclusive feature of the Space Edition is an additional 3.5 ”OLED screen on the back of the lid. The display is responsible for displaying personalized messages and animated images.
ASUS Zenbook 14X OLED Zenbook 14X OLED can withstand temperatures as low as -24° up to 61° and vibration 20-2000 Hz. The laptop is equipped with the latest generation Intel Core i9-H CPU with Iris Xe graphics. The amount of RAM is 32 GB. The main OLED panel supports touch, 90Hz refresh rate and 2.8K resolution.
ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED
The third novelty is a compact, lightweight and powerful laptop equipped with a 14 ”OLED matrix with a NanoEdge bezel and a peak brightness of 550 nits. The panel is PANTONE certified and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.
The laptop weighs 1.39 kg and is 16.9 mm thick when closed. ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED is powered by the latest generation Intel Core chip with Iris Xe GPU. The processor is supplemented with 16 GB of RAM, and the storage subsystem is represented by an SSD with a PCI Express 4.0 interface. The battery is responsible for the autonomy of 75 W * h.
ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and F17
Especially for gamers, the company introduced gaming laptops of the TUF Gaming series with GeForce RTX 3070 (140W TGP) graphics based on the Intel Core i7-12700H processor. They are equipped with an advanced cooling system and are capable of providing a high level of gaming performance.
A choice of models are offered with a 300 Hz Full HD display, which is a record, or with a QHD matrix with a scanning frequency of 165 Hz. ASUS TUF Gaming F15 and F17 are housed in military-grade MIL-STD-810H enclosures.
ASUS TUF Dash F15
The 15-inch gaming laptop continues the TUF Dash lineup. The Intel Core i7-12650H chip in conjunction with the GeForce RTX 3070 accelerator (in the top-end version) is able to provide maximum performance, despite the thin case.
ASUS TUF Dash F15 uses DDR5-4800 memory paired with PCIe 4.0 SSDs. The Quad HD display supports 165HZ refresh rate and covers 100% DCI-P3 color space. A USB-C port (up to 100W) is provided to provide power.
ASUS ProArt Display PA169CDV
The professional monitor features a 4K ULTRA HD IPS panel with Wacom EMR technology for use with the ProArt Pen. The stylus is included in the package. The panel is aimed at content creators. It complies with the DisplayHDR 400 standard.
ASUS ProArt Display PA169CDV is the first PANTONE and Calman certified portable monitor. The model is factory calibrated with Delta E <2. Also note the 10-bit color coding along with 100% sRGB and Rec. 709 coverage.
ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5
Chromebooks were also unveiled at CES 2022. The ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 has an ErgoLift hinge that allows the lid to open 360 °. The novelty is equipped with a 16 ”matrix with thin frames on three sides.
In the top-end modification, the Chromebook is equipped with the latest generation Intel Core i7 chip, in which the iGPU Iris Xe is responsible for the graphics. The maximum version of ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 acquired 16 GB of RAM and an Intel WiFi 6E module with support for 6 GHz.
The new product uses a speaker system certified by Harman / Kardon. It included a quartet of speakers with resonance chambers. Also worth mentioning is the presence of a webcam with support for shooting video in FHD format.
ASUS ExpertBook B5
Finally, the latest novelty from ASUS is the ASUS ExpertBook B5 line of light laptops. The series offers users a model of the same name in a traditional form factor and a Flip version with a hinged lid. Both are equipped with 14 ”screens.
The hardware center is an Intel Core i7 chip with integrated Iris Xe graphics. On board can be an Intel WiFi 6E adapter and up to 48GB of RAM. The advantages also include good battery life, two SSDs with RAID support, MIL-STD-810G protection, a fingerprint reader, an IR camera (optional) and a NumberPad 2.0 digital panel combined with a touchpad.
