Google following Android 12 Beta 4.1 has released the fifth and latest beta version of the operating system. Next up is the final release.

What is known?

The company originally planned only four beta versions of the software, but eventually had to include a fifth build in the testing program and release an interim Beta 4.1. But testing ends with Android 12 Beta 5.

The update is available for all Google smartphones from the third generation, including the recent newcomer Pixel 5a. To get the update, you need to register for the Android Beta program at this link.

The latest software version number is SPB5.210812.002. The size of the update may vary depending on the smartphone model. The list of changes states that Android 12 Beta 5 brings some sort of "latest fixes". But users are already reporting some notable innovations. These include a redesigned calculator, a new lock screen shortcut to control smart home devices, geometric clock widgets and an updated search.
