Microsoft, along with Surface Studio 2+, introduced the Surface Pro 9 laptop as part of its fall presentation. The model combines features of the Surface Pro and Surface Pro X series.

Here's What We Know

Unlike the monoblock here, buyers have plenty to choose from. The consumer version of the Surface Pro 9 is equipped with Core i5-1235U, Core i7-1255U or Microsoft SQ3 chips with ARM architecture. The latter was developed by Qualcomm and provides 5G support. For corporate customers, there are versions on Core i5-1245U and Core i7-1265U.

The modification on Intel chips got up to 32 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and an SSD drive with up to 1 TB capacity. The version with SQ3 processor got 16GB of LPDDR4x memory and a 512GB SSD in the top configuration.

Regardless of the processor model, the Surface Pro 9 comes with a 13-inch PixelSense Flow touch-enabled display. The screen has a 3-to-2 aspect ratio, 2880 x 1920 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The contrast ratio is 1200:1.

The Surface Pro 9 weighs less than 900 grams. The laptop's arsenal includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Surface Connect and USB-C (3.2). The model with 5G support will be able to work almost 20 hours without recharging, 4 hours longer than the versions based on Intel processors.

Price & When We Can Expect It

The new laptop will be available for purchase starting October 25. The Surface Pro 9 with Intel processors will cost $1,000 and more. The top-of-the-line Core i7-1255U-powered version costs $2600. Those who want to buy Surface Pro 9 with Microsoft SQ3 chip will have to pay about $1300.
