Alfred introduced the world's first smart door lock with wireless charging support

At CES 2023, Alfred presented the world's first door lock that can be charged wirelessly. The model is called Alfred DB2S.

Here's What We Know

The door lock is equipped with a touch screen, which acts as a keypad, and a Bluetooth wireless adapter, and communication with the smart home is established through the Zegbee protocol. It also supports RFID cards.

Wireless charging is done by infrared energy transfer technology. A special Wi-Charge kit is used for this. It consists of a receiver and a transmitter with a constant power supply. Charging is performed within line-of-sight distance of up to 30 feet (9.15 meters).

The Alfred DB2S will cost $300. The Wi-Charge kit won't be available until six months from now. Until then, the door lock can be charged via a USB-C connector.
