Turkey is in discussions with the UK and Spain to buy 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets due to another pause in the $20 billion F-16 Fighting Falcon deal

Turkey is still unable to acquire fourth-generation fighters. The deal for the F-16 Fighting Falcon is hanging in the air again, and Istanbul has decided to try its luck in Europe.

Here's What We Know

Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Gular discussed the purchase of European fourth-generation Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets on Thursday. Britain and Spain took part in the talks. This was reported by the Reuters news agency.

During a parliamentary hearing in Ankara, the head of the defence ministry said that work on purchases is underway. At the same time, Turkey is not negotiating with Germany. The UK and Spain are engaged in these negotiations.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan will visit Germany on Friday to meet and hold talks with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz. If a sale is possible, Turkey intends to buy 40 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets.
