Tesla sets new record for electric car deliveries - sales have increased 1,000 times in 10 years

Tesla has renewed its own record for vehicle deliveries. The manufacturer has released its third-quarter 2022 report.

Here's What We Know

Traditionally, the most popular Tesla vehicles were the relatively inexpensive Model 3 and Model Y. Their share was 94.6%, up almost 1% from the second quarter of this year. Accordingly, the Model S and Model X accounted for 5.4%.

Tesla shipped a total of 343,830 vehicles (3% leased) to customers during the quarter. Sales of the premium Model S and Model X were 18,762 (10% leased) and the Model 3 and Model Y were 325,158 (3% leased).

Sales of Tesla cars have grown more than 1,000 times in 10 years. In 2012, Elon Musk's company was able to ship only 321 cars. Compared to last year, deliveries have increased by about 42%.
