Disney has decided to increase the number of channels in the Hulu + Live TV service. Users can already watch five new channels, and the rest will appear on the first day of winter.

Here's What We Know

In total, Live TV will get 14 new channels. Subscribers can already watch Weather Channel, Comedy.TV, Hallmark Channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and Hallmark Drama. The rest will come on Dec. 1. Most of these are Vevo music channels.

It is likely that with this innovation Disney is trying to justify the increase in the cost of a subscription to Hulu + Live TV, which will be increased by $5 to $75 from December 8. The streaming service will now offer viewers more than 85 channels, including CNN, EPSN, MTV and the NFL Network.

Last week, the company announced that the total number of Dinsey+, Hulu and ESPN+ subscribers had reached 236 million, putting Disney on par with Netflix. At the same time, operating losses increased from $800 million to $1.5 billion. Losses are expected to decline in future periods, including due to higher costs for the services.
