Microsoft Teams gets performance improvements next month

Personal sources told The Verge that in March, Microsoft plans to release a new version of Teams that will be rewritten from scratch, which should significantly improve its performance and reduce the use of system resources.

Here's What We Know

Microsoft has been working on this new version of the client for the past few years. It is supposed to use 50% less RAM, less CPU load, and improve battery life on laptops. All this should happen thanks to the transition from Electron technology to Microsoft Edge Webview 2, as well as the use of React and JavaScript libraries.

So far, it is known that the company plans to send out a beta version of the application to testers at the end of March. It will have the ability to switch to the standard build if necessary.
