Microsoft has added ads to the Windows 11 Start menu again in the latest test build of the system

As Bleeping Computer has noticed, Microsoft has added ads to the Start menu again for the latest Windows 11 test build KB5023778. It seems that Windows insiders are not testing new system features, but advertising in the same OS.

Here's What We Know

Since the update is not related to the security system, it is not mandatory - at least for now. There are a few welcome improvements, such as enhancements to Microsoft Defender, but users clearly don't expect new ways to display ads. Of course, Microsoft doesn't call them ads, but instead prefers to use the term notifications. They'll appear right on the Start menu and tell you all about Microsoft products, just like regular ads.

You can either install this preview update from Settings > Windows Update by clicking the Download and Install button after checking for updates, or manually download and install it from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
