Netflix has acquired the rights to show seven Ukrainian films: what will be shown

Streaming service Netflix has purchased the rights to show seven Ukrainian films. These are the first tapes from a large package of films which Netflix bought the rights to show in Ukraine. This information was confirmed by Film.ua Distribution.

So, the service already has films available:

  • "My thoughts are silent" by Antonio Lukic
  • "Zakhar Berkut" by Akhtem Seitablayev and John Wynn
  • "Stars in Exchange" by Alexei Daruga
  • "Betrayed" by Kristina Sivolap
  • "Foxtrot and Max" by Anatoly Mateshko
  • "Watchtower" by Yuri Kovalev
  • "The Guide" by Olesya Sanina

"This fall we made a really unique agreement and sold the rights to watch a large package of Ukrainian films on Netflix in Ukraine. According to the terms and business ethics, we have to keep it a secret, so we just watched as the Ukrainian media did a real investigation, released the information, albeit incomplete, in advance, as this information was picked up by the public. This shows that our full-length films are really needed by the audience, they arouse interest and admiration. All this inspires us to keep working for the local and global distribution of Ukrainian films and series. Follow the announcements. To be continued," - said Eugene Drachov, director of Film.ua Distribution.

Earlier Forbes reported on 14 films that will be available on Netflix. They include "Sniper. White Crow," "The Best Weekend" and "The Big Walk." Three movies have already been released on Netflix in September: "Wild Field" based on the novel by Sergei Zhadan, "Amber Cops" ("Burshtinovi kopi") and "Meeting of classmates".
