Samsung Galaxy Flip 5 - Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, improved displays and a redesigned hinge priced from $1000
Following the Galaxy Fold 5, Samsung has announced a cheaper smartphone equipped with a foldable display. As you have realised, the second novelty is the Samsung Galaxy Flip 5.
Here's What We Know
The smartphone has quite a few differences from the model that debuted in August 2022. The main change concerns the additional screen. He became more functional by increasing the diagonal from 1.9" to 3.4". The second display now allows you to fully use apps, answer messages and take photos. The resolution of the Super AMOLED panel is 720 x 748 pixels.
The main screen has also been improved, but the changes are only to the brightness, which is now higher. The Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel retained its 6.7" diagonal, 2640 x 1080 pixel resolution, HDR10+ and refresh rate up to 120Hz.
A new hinge has removed the gap between the two halves of the smartphone, and the thickness when folded is 15.1mm, down 2mm compared to the Flip 4. The frame is made of aluminium and the back features Gorilla Glass Victus+. The case has been given IPX8 moisture protection.
Samsung Galaxy Flip 5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and a 3,700 mA*h battery. The battery supports 25W (wired) and 15W (wireless) fast charging. The smartphone also features a 12 MP (OIS) + 12 MP main camera, 10MP selfies module, stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint scanner and NFC.
