Microsoft has unveiled Video Super Resolution (VSR), an experimental video scaling technology for the Edge web browser that uses machine learning to increase the resolution of low-quality videos. According to the company, VSR technology "eliminates blocky compression artefacts" and improves text clarity for videos on platforms such as YouTube. The feature is currently being tested for half of the Canary Edge channel users in the Microsoft Insider programme.
