For 17 years, Israel has not used American M270 MLRS multiple rocket launchers in combat. However, they had to be used to counter Hamas terrorists.

Here's What We Know

The Israel Defence Forces used M270 MRLS rocket systems from the 334th Rocket Artillery Division, which is part of the 282nd Artillery Brigade. They were last used in 2006 during the Second Lebanon War.

The Israeli version of the M270 MLRS strikes with Romah rockets. They are said to be 122mm calibre, almost half the size of the GMLRS. A single M270 system can fire a salvo of 36 missiles and the rate of fire reaches 18 launches per minute.

The Romah has a range of 35-40 kilometres, which is also about half the range of the conventional GMLRS variant without a cluster warhead. The missile is equipped with a 20kg monobloc warhead and is GPS-guided.
