Chinese scientists achieve 100 Gbit/s transfer rate on 6G network

China is a leader in six-generation (6G) network research. Against this background, the US is planning to invest $1 billion in 6G development. Meanwhile, Chinese experts have managed to achieve 100G data rates on 6G networks at terahertz frequencies (300GHz~3THz).

Here's What We Know

The achievement has been announced by a Chinese lab that promotes deep space exploration. Specialists have accomplished wireless data transmission at 100Gbps in the 10GHz bandwidth.

With sufficient funding, 6G is expected to be available in 2030. Next-generation technology will help in space exploration by using terahertz bands, which will provide lower latency compared to fibre optic networks.
