DJI Mavic 3 captures spectacular video from an altitude of 9,233 meters

DJI published a spectacular video shot in the Himalayas using a DJI Mavic 3 drone. Some footage was recorded at an altitude of more than 9 km above sea level.

Here's What We Know

A Chinese drone captured the ascent of the world's highest peak. The drone was launched at Everest (8,848 meters) and climbed to an altitude of 9,233 meters above sea level. Before launching the drone, the operator heated the battery pack to increase operating time in extremely low temperatures.

Another obstacle was the mountain air, as more electricity was required to keep the drone in the sky as the quadcopter's propellers made more revolutions. But the problems don't end there either. Another danger at this altitude is icing of the blades, which can cause the copter to lose its balance and crash.

Whether a modified version of DJI Mavic 3 was used to shoot video is not yet specified. Recall that the instructions to the UAV states that the quadcopter can fly up to 6 km above sea level at temperatures down to -10 ° C. The average temperature on Mount Everest is -37° C.
