Motorola and Bullitt Group are working on Moto Defy 5G smartphone: the novelty will get support for satellite messaging

Motorola announced a partnership with Britain's Bullitt Group in 2021. Since then, the manufacturers have been working together on the Defy 5G secure smartphone. Now some details about the new product have appeared on the Internet.

Here's What We Know

According to the Bullitt Group, the Moto Defy 5G will be the first smartphone in the world to support satellite messaging. Such a system Motorola and Bullitt have developed with MediaTek and Skylo. That is, if the smartphone can not connect to Wi-Fi or cellular network, it will automatically send messages via satellite. In this case, the recipient will receive an ordinary SMS.

The service will be offered for a $4.99 subscription per month. In addition the smartphone will receive a system of SOS Assistance, which will also work via satellite.

When We Can Expect It

Supposedly, the Moto Defy 5G will be released in the first quarter of 2023. How much it will cost and what features the smartphone will get is unknown.
