Nine HIMARS and M270: the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council told how many American MLRS are used by the AFU

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov gave an interview to the American edition "The Wall Street Journal". He told journalists how many US MLRS are already being used by Ukrainian defenders.

What we know

According to Danilov, Ukraine has already received nine multiple-launch rocket systems from the US and its partners. We are talking about HIMARS. The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council did not say what other units we have received, but it is likely to be M270. Germany, Norway and Great Britain have promised to give them to us.

"Nine HIMARS and similar rocket systems donated by the US and its allies are now operating in Ukraine with lethal results for the occupiers"

M270 MLRS

Recall, M270 MLRS is the US tracked BMP-based Bradley Multiple Rocket Launcher System. It is designed to carry out combat missions of engaging and destroying from closed firing positions at a distance of up to 300 km. It can be used at any time of day and in all weather conditions. It carries up to 12 rounds.

HIMARS M142

The HIMARS M142, in turn, is American rocket launcher on wheeled chassis. It is based on the U.S. Army's FMTV five-ton wheeled chassis. The MLRS can carry six rockets or one ATACMS tactical ballistic missile. The HIMARS M142 has a range of 2 to 500 km (depending on the projectiles).
