AM General received $4.65bn to manufacture and supply JLTV armoured vehicles for the US Army

The US Army has ordered a large batch of Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV). They will be a replacement for the aging HMMWV armoured vehicles.

Here's What We Know

The US Department of Defense has announced an agreement with AM General to manufacture and supply JLTV armoured vehicles. The deal is valued at $4.65 billion. Work on the contract will be completed by February 9, 2028.

The JLTV offers enhanced mobility, protection and firepower on the battlefield compared to the HMMWV. The new armoured vehicle combines the manoeuvrability and capabilities of an all-terrain vehicle with advanced armour and state-of-the-art technology to meet modern threats.
