OnePlus has released a major update for the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro flagships in the global market: what's new

OnePlus yesterday announced a major update for the current flagships OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro outside of China.

Update

The new software is C.44 marked in all global markets. The firmware brings the January security patch to smartphones, as well as numerous fixes and improvements. This is arguably the longest changelog we've seen from OnePlus.

For example, the Work Life Balance feature is now available to all users with automatic mode switching and custom app notification profiles. You also get camera enhancements, 5G connectivity, Canvas AOD features, and the Gallery app.

In addition, you can expect better battery life, a smoother fingerprint unlock process, better charging animations, less scrolling lag in the notification area, the addition of three adjustable levels for dark mode, and a lot of other things added and fixed in Shelf.

As always, the distribution of the update is gradual. At first, a small percentage of devices will receive the firmware, and then, if everything goes well, a wider deployment will occur.
