Budget smartphone 2019 Redmi 7A received MIUI 12.5. Looks like this is the last major update for it.

The Redmi 7A smartphone, released in mid-2019, received MIUI 12.5 in China back in August. Six months passed, and finally, the deployment started in other countries.

What to expect

Redmi 7A owners in India have reportedly started receiving firmware with build number V12.5.1.0.QCMINXM. As always, the latest system update for the smartphone is being released in batches. Thus, it may take some time for full deployment.

Also on the forums they write that users in Russia also received the update. Firmware with MIU number is distributed hereI–V12.5.2.0.QCMRUXM.

Recall, Redmi 7A debuted with MIIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. The phone was updated to MIUI 11 at the end of the same year. Later, in mid-2020, it received Android 10. By the end of that year, the device began receiving MIUI 12. A year after that, it is now getting MIUI 12.5.

Typically, the Redmi A series receives one Android update and two MIUI updates. So MIUI 12.5 seems to be the last update for Redmi 7A. In any case, there is no smartphone in the list for updating to MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition.
