Apple has more than doubled Samsung in the US smartphone market - Google has only 1%, while Motorola has set a historic achievement

Counterpoint Research reported not only Samsung leads the smartphone market in 2021 - Apple catches up, Xiaomi breaks away from Vivo and OPPO, but also published a separate report on the US market.

What is known

In the United States, Apple is the undisputed leader. In the fourth quarter, its share was 57%. Over the year, the manufacturer from Cupertino was able to increase the supply of smart phones by 17%. In second place is Samsung with an increase of 11% and a share of 24%. At the same time, the Galaxy A12 became the most popular Android smartphone in the country not only in the last quarter, but throughout the year.

Motorola closes the top three. The brand is still popular in the United States. The market share was 9%. The company broke its own historical record set in the fourth quarter of 2019. Alcatel and OnePlus occupied 2% of the market each (+520% growth).

The share of Google was 1%, although compared to the last quarter of 2020, shipments increased by more than one and a half times (+ 56%). All other manufacturers supplied a total of 5% of the devices.
