Tesla recalls nearly 820,000 vehicles due to software bug

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that Tesla is recalling more than 817,000 of its vehicles.

Why?

The reason was a malfunction in the sound warning system, due to why the car does not signal an unfastened seat belt. However, Tesla assured that as of January 31, no reports of any incidents caused by this issue.

However, the 2021-2022 Model S and Model X, 2017-2022 Model 3 and 2020-2022 Model Y have been found not to meet the vehicle safety standard.

Tesla also stressed that a problem with the sound alert may occur if the signal was interrupted by force during the previous trip, and subsequently the seat belt was not fastened. But when accelerating to 22 km/h or more, the alert is always triggered.

Fortunately, anything you won’t have to repair or change parts to fix the problem - for this, the manufacturer promised to update the software.
