Olaf Scholz promised to transfer IRIS-T to Ukraine: this is the most modern air defense system that Germany has
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, during his speech in the Bundestag on June 1, announced that Germany was going to transfer modern weapons to Ukraineair defense.
We are talking about air defense IRIS-T. it short range air-to-air missiles, equipped with a cooled infrared homing head. By the way, at the moment this is the most modern air defense system that is in service with Germany. With the help of IRIS-T, you can repel attacks by combat aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, rocket artillery, drones, anti-radar missiles and bombs.
Unfortunately, the number of installations and delivery times Scholz did not say.
Recall that today the United States also approved supplies to Ukraine MLRS HIMARS. Thanks to them, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to hit targets at a distance of up to 80 km.
