Apple has released the first public beta of tvOS 16

Apple has given the public beta testing group a first look at tvOS 16, allowing users to download and try out the new software on Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K models. Toggling on "Get public Beta Updates" in the Software Updates area of the Settings app on the ‌Apple TV‌ after joining up to beta test on Apple's public beta website allows testers to download the tvOS 16 beta update.

Cross-device connectivity is now available in tvOS 16, which will let development teams connect “Apple TV” apps with iPhone and iPad applications to produce new entertainment possibilities. Multiple user profiles have also been enhanced through a shared keychain feature that saves time on logins.

The ‌Apple TV‌ has expanded controller support to the Nintendo Joy-Cons and Nintendo Pro Controller, as well as HDR10+ compatibility in the Apple TV app. The ‌Apple TV‌ will soon support Matter, a forthcoming smart home standard that will enhance interoperability among accessories from various manufacturers.

tvOS 16 will launch this fall, and it will go through several rounds of beta testing.
