Volkswagen showed a prototype of an unmanned air cab V.MO

Giant German Volkswagen has presented a prototype of the V.MO air cab.

What we know

Production and development of the flying machine is being carried out in China at the local division of the German concern. The first prototype is called the Flying Tiger. It is 11.2 m long and has a wingspan of 10.6 m.

The cab can take off and land vertically. For this purpose, it is equipped with eight propellers, i.e. we are dealing with an octocopter. Two more propellers ensure the horizontal flight of the V.MO. The propellers are powered by electric motors.

Tests of the electric cab will start at the end of 2022. The company plans to collect the data needed to build the final prototype of the air cab, which is expected to be announced in 2023, as part of the tests.

The serial version of the V.MO will be designed for four passengers with luggage. Cruising range will be 200 km. One of the features of the air cab will work in standalone mode.
