Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will charge faster

The Galaxy Watch 5, which is expected to be announced in a few days, will include a number of minor upgrades to the line, and its most important one is said to be expanded battery life, both in capacity and charging speed. To achieve that, Samsung will purportedly alter a few conventional practices.

According to Tipster SnoopyTech, the Galaxy Watch 5 series will be able to charge from zero to 45% in 30 minutes. Given how charging rates slow down as percentages increase, we could be looking at roughly an hour for a full charge. That's still plenty quick given how long smartwatches to charge, but it might just be the beginning.

The increased pricing is due to two anticipated major modifications. The first is the shift to a faster 10W charger, which is a significant increase from Samsung's prior 5W charger. There's also the supposed adoption of a more efficient and quicker USB-C connection, something that is still uncommon among smartwatches. This implies you may charge your Galaxy Watch 5 without using Wireless Powershare, which was previously required to use the phone as an alternative power source.

The Galaxy Watch 5's battery life, on the other hand, is expected to be significantly better than its predecessors. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has been said to have a 572mAh battery, up from the Galaxy Watch 4's 361mAh capacity. That may not be the case for all versions, but it will have an impact on charging time. In any event, the Galaxy Watch 5 appears to be the Wear OS smartwatch to keep an eye on until Google's Pixel Watch finally releases.
